there was an earthquake tonight. 8 miles NW od Ottawa, Illinois at approx. 10 minutes after 1 a.m. and i felt it. I believe it registered a 4.5 on the Richtor Scale. Luckily, my mom was still awake, and she validated my experience. its now about 2:45 a.m. and still has yet to really be reported on any major news networks. i was out in california back in May and i felt one but i didnt know thats what it was when it happened. i have to say, it is something i will probably remember for the rest of my life. Springfield is a little over 150 miles miles from Ottawa. I cant believe i could feel the earthquake that far away. but it seems as though it was felt at least all the way to Lawrence, Kansas. man, its almost unreal. I am not familiar with any fault line near that area. i have heard of a Sanwich Fault Zone, but im not sure if that is actually a confirmed fault area near there or not. Most people are aware of the Madrid Fault Line but that is in southern illinois. i may report more infor later as it becomes available.
this could be a rant. but its something that has been on my mind lately. some of these people who claim to be animal rights activist are just silly. its strictly my personal opinion only, that just by not eating meat, or not wearing leather, does not make you an activist. to me an activist isnt someone who just sits there watching the things they dont like happen. and i dont think activism has to consist of shoving your opinions and feelings down other peoples throats. its about bringing information and facts to their attention, in a way that grabs their attention but at the same time, actually makes them think about the information, and not the way it was presented. its about stating your case in a classy respectable manner. i think thats the best way to actually get people to listen.
i wouldnt go to lengths to say the town i live in is big city urban, its not. its a small town in the middle of alot of other small towns. but we do have our troubles. and there are kids here, that go to school, just to get the FREE LUNCH the school offers them. whether it be a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich or a hamburger. that over processed hamburger, which may have easily been a tortured cow is making it possible for some of the kids here to get through the day without starving to death. and unless your willing to make a considerable donation to the cafeteria at your neighborhood elementry school, so they can afford to feed kids soy burgers and what not, stop claiming something youre watching but not doing anything about.
p.s. i am a vegetarian
twisted and turned,
inclined and predisposed,
bare and simple,
feeling so exposed.
its an easy concept
but simple to mistake
its not something you can see
and its easy to break.
its somewhere inside,
where no one can see,
its what you decide
and theres no guarantee.
it requires imagination
and a lot of drive
its what you need sometimes,
just to survive.
i can see it when i look at you
it drips from your eyes
you wont stop
till your satisfied
its something that can be spoken
but often unsaid
its something you feel,
its called determined.
